Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Handspring collects from visitors to hsring.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be clear about what we do with it.
1. Who we are
"Handspring," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the team building the Handspring smart ring at hsring.com. You can reach us at hi@hsring.com for any privacy-related question or request.
2. What we collect
Right now hsring.com is a pre-launch waitlist site. We collect a deliberately small amount of information.
2.1 Waitlist information
When you submit the waitlist form, we store:
- Your email address.
- The page section the form was submitted from (for example, "hero" or "cta").
- Your IP address and browser user-agent string, used only to detect spam and abuse.
- The timestamp of the submission.
2.2 Local browser storage
If you successfully join the waitlist, we store your email in your browser's localStorage under the key hs_waitlist, so the site can remember that you've already joined and skip the form on subsequent visits. This stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
2.3 Server logs
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically log standard request information such as IP address, request URL, and timestamp for short periods, for the purpose of operating, securing, and protecting the service from abuse.
2.4 What we do not collect
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, cross-site cookies, or analytics that profile you across the web. We do not collect health, biometric, or sensor data from this website — there is no ring shipped yet.
3. How we use this information
- To send you a confirmation email after you join the waitlist.
- To send you product updates and launch-related announcements that you signed up for.
- To detect spam, abuse, and automated abuse of the form.
- To plan our launch (for example, aggregate counts of how many people are on the list).
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Service providers
We use the following infrastructure providers to run this site. They process limited data on our behalf.
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, DDoS protection, and transactional email delivery. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — typeface delivery. Requests are served from Google's CDN.
5. Email and unsubscribing
Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. If you want us to delete your address from the waitlist entirely, email hi@hsring.com and we'll remove the record within a reasonable time, typically a few business days.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information we hold about you, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hi@hsring.com. We will respond in line with applicable law.
7. Security
We protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational measures, including transport encryption (HTTPS), access controls, and storage on infrastructure that we believe to be reputable. No internet service can be perfectly secure; we ask that you also do your part by using a strong, unique password for any account you might create with us in the future.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact hi@hsring.com and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Because we use global cloud infrastructure, your information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. We rely on our service providers' standard safeguards to protect such transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our product evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date, and — where appropriate — communicated by email.
